The new Sacramento Bridge Center
is open for business!
First Game: September 12
Our opening day was a rousing success. It is only fitting that Albert Chow, without whose tireless dedication this club would not exist, should win the first game. Many others are to be commended as well for their assistance — Jim Bowman, Joy O'Dell, Ali Topcu, Hans Burgdorf, and others including a couple of computer guys. Also, we must thank profusely all the donors who put up a lot of cash to help make this thing possible.
There still is work to do. Television results monitors are to be installed, and a coat rack as well. Also, there are minor issues regarding air-conditioning and storage. We'll get there.

The game is almost underway — all 28½ tables!
The feeding trough already is quite popular
July 21
Construction is nearly finished!. About all that remains is the requisite red tape (inspections and permits).

The carpeting has been laid. The walls are finished, and the white boards have been installed.
Refrigerators and dishwashers await installation
The classroom can hold up to five tables
The kitchen will feature quartz counter-tops
A big TV near the front door will display scores and rankings. The plan is to mount a pair of other monitors on a center post, showing results from separate sections individually.

Good things have been happening at the new facility. Most of the legal hurdles are behind us.
The outer walls are mostly finished. That middle section will be a long whiteboard.

The electrical work is nearly finished. Newer building codes require a much more complicated setup than was previously the case.

In order to raise the kitchen ceiling, a lot of water pipes would have to be relocated, at considerable expense; so that is not going to happen.
The south wall adjoins a legal office. Materials are being doubled up on it to provide extra sound-proofing. We wouldn't want the lawyers to complain about our noise!

With most of the walls down, the room is much larger
